Meet your Teachers
Charlie - PRINCIPAL  (Street Dance, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Ballroom & Latin American, GCSE, Dance Reality Troupe)
Charlie has been dancing for over 25 years and teaching for over 17 years. She has taught at many local schools
until starting her own dancing school in 1999. Charlie as well as being a chartered building surveyor formed the Dance Reality Show & Cabaret group in 1999 and since then has been managing, choreographing and performing with the group.  She has expanded the company over the years by opening new schools in different areas of Reading until finally in March 2007 in partnership with her husband Matt opened the Studios giving a base for all the classes and the group.
Natasha (Pre Primary Ballet, Tap & Street, Street Dance)
Natasha trained at the Stella Mann College, London graduating in 2003. Since graduating Natasha has worked on numerous professional contracts and is a member of the Dance Reality Troupe.
Sam (Ballroom & Latin)
Sam is a professional and qualified Ballroom & Latin and Street Dance teacher with the NATD. She has been dancing for 29 years, and was interested in taking her first dance class at the age of 5. Sam’s actual teaching experience began at the age of 16 by assisting the principal teacher with her classes. She has been teaching for 18 years and since taught in Woodley and Henley, and now teaches in Tilehurst and Hurley, where she runs classes for Ballroom and Latin to all ages.  Sam has danced in many shows throughout the years and has danced alongside Roy Castle and has performed for the Dance Reality troupe. “I enjoy teaching and it gives me great satisfaction to see how pupils can progress to move around the dance floor”.

Cherie ( Vocal Coach)

Cherie has been performing in various guises since the age of 5. She started off singing in school assemblies and acting in school plays and has recently fulfilled one of her ambitions which was to record and sell an album! Whilst she has no formal qualifications, it is her experience of ‘what really works’ that she wants to pass on to her students.

After 38 years of singing in public as a soloist, chorister, amateur dramatics leading lady and more recently as the lead vocalist in the prog rock band Multifuse, she recently started teaching vocal skills and technique at the Dance Reality Theatre School

Miss Louise - Head of Ballet Faculty (ISTD Ballet & Contemporary)
Louise has been dancing for over 18 years, during which she has studied a wide variety of styles including Classical Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Street, Tap and Contemporary. She spent a year as a member of the Berkshire Youth Dance Company, and in 2000 was awarded a scholarship to study at the at British Ballet Organisation with Miss Brenda Last. She also spent time studying musical theatre and dance at London Studio Centre prior to beginning a degree course in Law. Louise has regularly competed at local and national dance competitions, and her achievements include 1st Place Contemporary Quartet at the All England Dance Competition. Having studied both the RAD and BBO syllabi as a student, Louise then trained in ISTD ballet at the Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College.

Simone  (Street Dance, Musical Theatre, Zumba)

I have been dancing for over 20 years now. at university where I competed in Latin and ballroom and streetdance competitions.   Since leaving university I have been teaching street dance to adults where I have choreographed and produced shows and competitions.  I have now joined the Dance Reality family and regularly perform for Dance Reality Unleashed.

 

Alex (Acting , Dance & Drama)

Alex gained a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Theatre and Dance at De Montfort then went on to qualify as a secondary dance and drama teacher where she has been teaching GCSE and A-level Dance and theatre studies for three years. Alex completed 2 long term dance contracts in Cyprus and Greece and has performed with Trading Faces, Trestle Theatre Company, and in the West End production of Murder in the Cathedral as a physical theatre artist and dance’s with the Dance Reality troupe.

 

Dru (Unleashed Crews, Street & Commercial Jazz)

Dru first found his passion of dance at the age of 13. His love for street dance enhanced his training and joined numerous professional dance companies such as A.C.E dance co., Berkshire Youth dance and SURGE hip hop dance company. recently finished a B.A Houns Dance degree at Creative Academy which has lead him to work very closely in the Commercial Dance industry and has trained with RUDEYE. Dru is working here at dance reality as a Choreographer for the Dance Reality Unleashed Crews which has been running successfully for the past 3 years and he was fulfilled when he got asked to put the 18+ crew forward to perform for Cadburys last year.

 

Jenny (Street Dance, Zumba )

I have attended various dance classes since I was 3 years old, I found a real passion for street and Hip-Hop dance at University. I have been teaching street classes around Reading for the last 3 years and excited to be a part of the Dance Reality crew. My experiences include local and national dance competitions for various dance crews and also performed in a range shows including Urban Innovation alongside Diversity.
